Synopsis

Funny, raw, romantic, and painfully real: two teenagers steal one day of freedom while two families learn the difference between protection and control.

Papai and Tumpa, both 18, run away on the eve of their Class 12 board exams with little money, no plan, and the conviction that love is enough. For a few hours, early-2000s Kolkata feels like freedom—local trains, cheap food, pirated music, anonymous streets, and a cyber café. But as night deepens, romance collides with hunger, jealousy, fear, and the weight of adulthood. Meanwhile, their families search for them together and confront how love, ambition, class insecurity, and social anxiety have hardened into control.

Strategic Value

An intimate, visceral Bengali youth feature with a period-specific early-2000s world, 4:3 MiniDV-inspired visual language, bloomed practical lights, grain, rain, and an alt-pop, alt-rock, and shoegaze soundtrack.
